Our Story

October 1, 2018 began another era in the lives of Sam Carpenter, Susan McCarver and me (Teri Carpenter). Sam and I purchased the business from Susie and I’m so excited for us all (my brother thinks I bumped my head). We have been through a lot the past few years but always with the focus of keeping the business ethics the way Earl would have. Susie has been one tough but gracious young lady over those years and I am so excited that she gets to now turn her full attention toward her family and real job at Family Trust. She will always have my respect, love and prayers. God is always right on time as Susie and I have learned even more on our journey to now. He has taught us most of all Patience...never one of my virtues. Everything that brought us to today happened through prayer and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us as we grow the business, now with Sam at the helm.

Sam Carpenter, Owner and General Manager, joined our team in February of 2018 after a 6 year stint as a plant manager for a German company in textiles. Sam and Teri were former owner/partners in Carpenter's Tile Works in York for 15 years. The job enabled Teri to take a break but she quickly returned to the business as a part time assistant at Earl Jackson's. Sam is a master tile setter and loves keeping his hands literally "in the mud", specializing in a completely waterproof tile shower system, or overseeing of all hard surface projects, whether porcelain/ceramic, hardwood floors or laminate/LVT/LVP. He researches every new product brought in and this is truly an innovative era in the flooring industry, so he makes sure before a product is sold, he knows all he needs to know about the product and its installation. Sam and Teri have one daughter, Brooke and her husband, Christopher and 3 grandchildren. Sampaw, as the children call him, loves spending time building things for them to play in/on. He also enjoys college football and camping in their RV.
