Teri Carpenter co-owned Carpenter’s Tile in York, SC for 16 years. She retired in 2012—for three weeks. She immediately missed seeing customers and working through design challenges. She contacted the McCarver family, owners of Earl Jackson’s Carpet, and proposed adding a ceramic, porcelain, and stone showroom to their extensive lines of carpet, vinyl, hardwoods, and flooring.
As a member of the team at Earl Jackson’s Carpet, Teri feels she has come full circle. Her father was a carpet manufacturer and builder who sold carpet to Earl Jackson 50 years ago. She and Susan McCarver have formed not only a strong business relationship, but also a friendship. They’re working hard to maintain the no-nonsense, friendly, quality service that was characteristic of the late Mr. Jackson.
Teri received her education at Limestone College (now University), the University of South Carolina, the University of Georgia, and Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte. She has attended many seminars and completed continuing education courses in design offered by the nation’s top tile manufacturers.
Teri is active in her community and church. She served on the Board of the York Downtown Business Association, was President of the Greater York Chamber of Commerce, chairman of Council of Chambers for York County, and volunteers with youth. She is an avid college football fan, loves motorsports, and enjoys spending time with her family.
