About Our Studio

Earl Jackson opened his carpet and furniture store in 1964. It thrived during good times and bad due to a reputation of good value and excellent, friendly service. Another family purchased the business from Earl and Jean Jackson in 2002. Since then, the business has evolved into a full-service flooring store offering carpet, tile, vinyl, hardwood, laminate, and a variety of commercial flooring products. Earl Jackson passed away in 2014, but Sam & Teri and staff are committed to providing the same quality service that he guaranteed. We appreciate our loyal customers and look forward to meeting new ones.

Our Story

Sam and Teri owned Carpenter's Tile in York for 16 years.  During the recession Sam was offered and took a great job and Teri retired....for 3 weeks.  She came to her friendly competitor, Earl Jackson's, to work part time and in just two short years she was running the business. Sam and Teri purchased the business in 2018 with the building purchase following just three years later.

Sheila Fee joined the Carpenters at Earl Jackson's in 2018.  Sheila has been in flooring sales since 2015 with many successful years previously in retail customer service.  Sheila keeps up on all the latest flooring products and trends and can advise you as to the best choices for your living situation.  Her extensive knowledge has been a great asset to our team especially with our residential and commercial carpet lines.

Since purchasing the business, the Carpenters completed the showroom with the addition of tile and stone to add to the already extensive line of carpet, hardwood and LVP/LVT.  They specialize in ADA approved and curb-less showers, including remodels of tub to showers, using the Schluter system as their only waterproofing system.  All of the installation crews are experienced and trustworthy, being overseen by Sam and Jonathan Smith, while Teri and Sheila manage the day to day of the office/showroom.

Teri feels she has come full circle as her father was a carpet manufacturer and builder who sold carpet to Earl Jackson 50 years ago. She even tagged along with her father on sales calls to EJC as a child.  Sam and Teri intend to follow "the Earl Jackson way" as they are working hard to maintain the no-nonsense, friendly, quality service that was characteristic of the late Mr. Jackson.
